“Imagine what organizations would be like if we stopped designing them like soulless, clunky machines. What could organizations achieve, and what would work feel like, if we treated them like living beings, if we let them be fueled by the evolutionary power of life itself?” - Frederic Laloux

Frederic Laloux’s book, Reinventing Organizations: An Illustrated Invitation to Join the Conversation on Next-Stage Organizations, is one of the most influential management books of the last decade. Its central claim is that organizations of the future will look and operate not like machines, but like living systems.

During his presentation, Director of Product Jan Mikula discusses Laloux’s various organization models and why the future belongs to organic organizations, not hierarchical ones. He also provides a few examples on how this approach could work at Salsita.

Jan is a former UI developer who lives for great digital product. He believes in the close collaboration between devs and designers and is a huge advocate of modern agile and lean methods. Out of the office he plays floorball for his beloved hometown team of Jablonec.
