Artificial Intelligence: An Intro to Intelligent Agents - Video Presentation by David Kuboň

When you hear the term AI, what comes to mind? Robots rising up against their human creators? Or maybe Steven Spielberg’s film of the same name? The reality of AI is less dramatic. It refers to a wide range of technologies and applications powering many of the products and services we use every day, even if we don’t realize it.

Artificial intelligence is any technique which enables computers to mimic human behavior. It’s a broad topic that covers a vast field of research and has gained rapidly in popularity over the last couple of decades as the underlying technology has improved.

Given the time constraints of our weekly brown bag presentations, Machine Learning Engineer David Kuboň decided to focus on one specialized area of AI: Intelligent Agents. His presentation covers different aspects of intelligent agents and how they have been applied to various areas, such as board games like chess and Go.

David Kuboň is a Full-Stack Developer whose stack wasn't full enough, so he chose to pursue a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. He's keen on seeking solutions to the unknown and keeping his code clean and tidy. When David isn’t fueling his app development with unhealthy amounts of caffeine, he’s travelling, curling, or trying to prove that gingers do have souls.
